Orthotics address Biomechanical issues of the feet, gait abnormalities and other presenting pathologies. They are designed with the patient’s unique foot, gait, structure and function in mind. Also, the footwear the patient wishes to fit the device into is taken into account, as there are different types of orthotics, such as:
- Dress orthotics
- Sport orthotics
- Accommodative orthotics (for diabetics and seniors)
- UCBL or Gait plate orthotics for children with in toeing or out toeing, as well and pes planus (flat feet)
